Planet Earth

Five years in the making, Planet Earth was the most expensive nature documentary series ever commissioned by the BBC and the first to be filmed in high definition. Produced by the BBC Natural History Unit, the series captures the planet’s most extraordinary habitats — including sequences filmed in Svalbard, where the High Arctic environment provides rare access to polar wilderness and wildlife on screen.
