Far North

2007 – Svalbard & Filmcamp

Woman driving a dog sled across a barren Arctic landscape with huskies in front.

Far North

Far North follows two women living a harsh, isolated life in the Arctic wilderness, where survival depends on trust and routine. Their fragile existence is disrupted when an unexpected soldier arrives, triggering jealousy, desire, and escalating conflict in the frozen landscape.

Norway’s Arctic environment was central to the film’s atmosphere, with production using remote northern scenery to convey isolation and extreme conditions. The film was shot partly on location in Svalbard, Norway, whose stark terrain provided an authentic setting for the story’s unforgiving world.
