Set during the gold rush, North Star follows Hudson Ipsewahk as he fights to protect Indigenous land from the growing pressure of prospectors descending on the booming mining town of Nome. The film used Norwegian wilderness locations to recreate the scale and atmosphere of the Alaskan frontier. Key sequences were filmed in Maridalen (Oslo) and in Telemark, including Møsvatn and Rjukan.
