Filming in Western Norway

Western Norway is a highly cinematic region, featuring deep fjords, steep mountains, waterfalls and glaciers accessible within short travel distances. Cities such as Ålesund, Stavanger and Bergen provide historic architecture, modern infrastructure and urban filming locations alongside spectacular fjord landscapes. Productions includingMission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, Apple’s The Gorge, and HBO’s Succession have filmed here.

The Western Norway Film Commission provides production guidance, while Western Norway Film Fund, Filmkraft, and Zefyr Media Fund offer financing, and Zefyr Media Fund also providing investment support. With international airports, experienced crews, hotels, restaurants and production services, Western Norway is a reliable destination for large-scale Norwegian film productions and fjord filming projects.
