2009 – Bjorli and Åndalsnes

As Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts, he discovers an old book marked as “the property of the Half-Blood Prince” and begins to uncover more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past while navigating growing threats to the wizarding world. While the majority of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was shot in the UK and Ireland, key snowy sequences involving the Hogwarts Express were filmed in Norway. Because snow was needed for the mountain railway scenes and UK conditions were unsuitable at the time, the production shot those portions on the Rauma Railway near Bjorli in Innlandet county.
